MVP Aztec Bowl Tristan Carter
CHIHUAHUA, Mexico – Angelo State Rams' running back Tristan Carter broke off a 51-yard run on the opening play of the Aztec Bowl XXXIX and would run away with Most Valuable Player honors. The senior helped lead the All-American Eagles to a 28-14 win over the University of Chihuahua Saturday.
“This was a trip I'll always remember,” Carter said. “There were a lot of things to do, and the people there were great.”
Carter finished the game with 175 yards rushing on 25 carries including a touchdown. The Tucker, Ga., native also had a pair of catches for 25 yards. Carter concluded his career at Angelo State with 1,529 yards on the ground, which ranks 11th in program history. The senior finished the 2011 with 926 yards including five 100-yard rushing games.

“This was a great experience for me, and to be able to share it with some of my teammate's means a lot,” Carter said.
Three other senior Ram football players joined Carter in the Aztec Bowl, including Terrance Preston, Mike Mosley and Godwin Ubah.
