2009 Metrodome All American Bowl

The College II/III All-Stars (Stars) won big over the Semi Pro All-Stars (Stripes) 46 to 0...

The Stars came out ready to play as they clobbered the Stripes 46-0. The Stripes struggled all day to get anything going offensively and when they managed to get moving, they were killed with turnovers. The Stars had their way, moving up and down the field as they scored in all phases of the game. The Stars were able to score through the air, lead by Kareem Dennis and Bryan Truten, but were also successful on the ground, picking up big chunks of yards thanks to Terrence Freeman and Kevin Hall. The biggest play of the day came when Dennis connected with Aunton Terry for  68 yard TD. And when the Stars were stopped in Stripes territory, their kicker Tony Smidl was perfect on the day going 4/4 on FG's, with a long of 44 yards. Even though the score may not have reflected it, the Stars were able to gain yards. Willie Staple moved the Stripes through the air, but had several big turnovers that killed drives. The Stripes' big playmakers: Donte Pettis, Grant Dickey, and Marcus Foster were all over the field and each came up with big catches, that unfortunately didn't net any points. The game was a success and many players stood out. Even though the Stars predominately won the game, both teams had fun and enjoyed playing in this year's 2009 College DII/III vs Semi Pro All American Bowl.
